I get paid an honoraria for speaking to charities, NHS orgnanisations, patient groups and organisations (drug companies, health insurance) for giving a keynote talk - either in house or at a conference. I share my experience as an expert patient to help improve patient care. I do not offer advice or work with organisations to develop policy or products I do not work with brands or companies on social media. I do not get paid to endorse products and anything I mention is purely because I like it and use it. I do not accept gifts from brands wanting to use me as an influencer. Instead I ask them to donate them to one of my followers. I have an account on www.buymeacoffee.com where social media followers can pay me in return for the educational content I provide for free. I also receive money from YouTube and Twitter adverts before my videos and posts, and followers on YouTube and Instagram can buy badges to support my creative work. All of this money helps pay for video filming, editing and podcast production which currently come out of my own pocket.
I own a small number of shares in Vine app as compensation for helping the co-founders fine-tune the app to help cancer patients monitor and manage their symptoms
